I managed to cut all my squares today, well I say squares I'm not entirely sure how accurate they are. This cutting accurately thing is proving more difficult than I anticipated. I'm certainly feeling very motivated with quilting though, each new stage brings something even more exciting to look at as the fabric changes into something new.
And here is the quilt top all sewn together.
I am going to make the backing from the left over fabric so all I need to get is the wadding, then to embark on the quilting which scares me the most.
My local craft shop has a fabric sale today so going to have a look at that, hopefully won't spend too much money!!
Hey, that looks awesome! I love the fabric, what is it? I hear you about cutting accuracy. I cannot tell you how many times I have measured, measured again.....and again only to end up with squares that have nothing to do with each other. I'm getting better though. Do you starch your fabric before you cut it? That is one tip that has really really helped me. I starch the heck out of my fabric on both sides.
ReplyDeleteI saw that you are thinking about doing the Blockapalooza. I just got my fabrics in for that and they are gorgeous! You should do it. I have no idea what the piecing will be like, but I'm guessing we'll learn a ton!
